Year 1980. Enzo Tortora is at the highest peaks of success. The Irpinia earthquake breaks the already fragile balance of Raffaele Cutolo's New Organized Camorra. His man of trust, Giovanni Pandico, decides to collaborate with justice.

On June 17th,1983, Enzo Tortora was arrested on serious charges of belonging to the Camorra and drug trafficking. Exposed to the press with handcuffs on his wrists, he is dragged to prison in Regina Coeli.

While Judge Fontana carefully studies the cards of the one who is about to be the first Great trial against the Camorra, Enzo Tortora crosses Italy on a long and exhausting journey towards the transfer to the Bergamo prison.

Enzo is granted house arrest and returns home but is depressed, sick and tired. He receives the unexpected proposal from Marco Pannella to run for the European election of the Radical Party. On 17 June 1984, Enzo Tortora was elected MEP.

In Naples, the first ever maxi-trial in Italian history takes place with more than 700 defendants. Enzo Tortora is one of them, certainly the most famous, who shines the spotlight on an operation never seen before for Italian justice.

The second instance trial is assigned to a new judge who, after the media hype, has the time to reconstruct, order and shed light. On September 15, 1986, the Naples Court of Appeal fully acquitted Enzo Tortora.
