Dex, a 9-yr-old artist, explorer, and 'paleontologist in training' using his Dino Field Guide to magically see and study dinosaurs in the real world. Join Dex and his neighbor Kayla as they question what we thought we knew about dinosaurs.

It's clear who they should bring in but, when both Kayla and Saara suggest they call Dana, Dex doesn't want to. Saara realizes that Dex is feeling neglected by their paleontological superstar middle sister while she's away working on a finding of her own. Luckily, it's biggest sister to the rescue when she brings her siblings together for an epic submarine adventure where Dex realizes that scientists have to work together to make major discoveries.

Dino Touchdown. While Dad and Uncle Ravi play football in the park, Dex and Kayla try to figure out if the T. rex will eat other predators by taking turns becoming dino bait in the form of a Velociraptor, a Megaraptor, and, finally, a T. rex itself.

When Mom visits a bird sanctuary to tend to an injured bird, Dex sees it as his chance to find out which birds are most like dinosaurs. But when a Megaraptor starts bird hunting, Dex and Kayla must combine their bird and dino knowledge to save the day.

Dex and Kayla join Saara at her internship at an ostrich sanctuary, where Dex hopes to solve "Dino Experiment 1016: What does a T. rex really sound like?" But when an ostrich egg under Saara's care is dino-napped, Dex and Kayla must get it back from a Velociraptor, then a Megaraptor, then a T. rex.

Dex and Kayla find a very large Elasmotherium (Siberian Unicorn) bullying a smaller one and are investigating why they're fighting. This reminds Dex's dad Aman about a time when his older brother Ravi bullied him, the first time they both met Dex's future mom Eva. Can they stop the uni-bully?

Dad and Uncle Ravi are beating Dex and Kayla in a game of whirly-ball, but when Dex and Kayla spot the Triceratops, Elasmotherium, and Ankylosaurus, they realize they can use prehistoric power in Bumper dinos to figure out which creature had the strongest ramming force and win the game.

Kayla's new pet puppy inspires Dex to tell a story about how he would care for his ideal prehistoric pet. But when the Tyrannosaurus rex and the Shuvuuia don't prove to be the perfect addition to the Jain household, Dex lands on an ancient doggy relative: the dire wolf.
